JONATHAN BYRNE – Dr Jonathan Byrne is a computer vision researcher working for Intel on the Movidius Myriad computer vision chip. The chip runs the vision system / collision detection system of all DJI drones.
Previously he worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the Urban Modelling Group where he worked with city scale LIDAR data and developed techniques for using low cost drones for aerial mapping.
He has worked on several aerial mapping projects for Irish rail, the OPW and private enterprises. He has 25 years of programming experience and is currently developing a compact format to allow 3D mapping on embedded systems.
GARRETT FINDLAY – Garrett Findlay has over 25 years’ experience as an ICT Professional, including 10 years in the role of ICT Manager in Fáilte Ireland. He now divides his time between project management, cyber security and flying drones for data capture and creative projects. He is the founder of Skyquest, a Naas based company specialising in drone services.
